The Ingredients; Simple & Basic

  • 1 Cup Salted Butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Mix all these together and bake at 450. Done! (just kidding)

The first part of making exceptional chocolate chip cookies starts with the dough. Having fresh ingredients is a must if you want the most out of your delicious dessert.

While you’re making the cookie dough. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Step 1: Combining Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, ½ tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp. of salt. Stir them together with a fork until homogenous. Quick Tip: Make sure the cup you are using for the flour is meant for dry ingredients. Dry and wet ingredient cups are different.

Step 2: The Second Bowl (Sugary Bowl)

In a second mixing bowl, add in a cup (2 sticks) of softened butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of brown sugar. Mix this together until the butter is beaten into the mixture. If you’re using a mixer, put the mixer on low.

Step 3: Add Eggs, Vanilla, & Dry Ingredients

In the mixing bowl with the butter and sugar, add two eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla until all the ingredients are combined evenly. Grab the other dry ingredient bowl and slowly add the contents to the sugary mixing bowl. Keep the machine on low so mixing continues as you add in the dry ingredients. Mix until all the dry ingredients are in creating an even dough.

Tip: The mixture should not be dry/crumbling. You want to aim for the consistency of wet sand.

Step 4: Time for Chocolate Chips

As you continue to mix, add in your chocolate chips. You can use as much as you’d like however I would recommend 2 cups. Continue mixing until the dough evenly contains chocolate chips.

Step 5: Trays, Baking, and Waiting

Grab an oven safe cooking tray, spray the surface with anti-stick spray, then start placing cookie dough balls on the tray with 2 inches between each dough ball. The cookies will flatten and expand as you bake them. The balls should consist of ~2 tablespoons of dough.

Once your tray is filled, place it in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. You’ll want to take the cookies out right when the edges begin to brown.

Step 6: Now We Wait

After you take the cookies out of the oven, place them on a cooling rack or a sheet of wax paper so they can cool off. Let them sit for a couple of minutes and enjoy!
